During a special Life Is Strange livestream, Square Enix and Deck Nine Games announced Life Is Strange: Reunion, reuniting Max Caulfield with Chloe, and her original time-rewinding powers. Life Is Strange: reunion will release on March 26, 2026 on Steam PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Reunion picks up where 2024’s Life Is Strange: Double Exposure left off, following young adult Max now teaching at Caledon University. Max returns to campus after a weekend away only to see it burning down, and the loss of everyone inside. By using her original Rewind power, Max reverses time several days, and tries to prevent the disaster and save her friends.
The story also reunites Max with Chloe from the original Life Is Strange and Before the Storm, a consequence of the multi-timeline events of Double Exposure.
While players have played as Max and Chloe before, Reunion marks the first time both characters are playable in the same game. The two characters possess different skills, with Max’s Rewind undoing choices and manipulating the environment. While Chloe can Backtalk others, and sneak around to new areas.
The story is described as an “epic climax that serves as a finale to the Max and Chloe saga.” I should hope so!
Life Is Strange: Reunion will be available in Standard ($39.99), Deluxe ($49.99), and Collector’s Edition ($99.99), as well as a Twin Pack with Double Exposure ($59.99). The Deluxe Edition includes digital mini soundtrack, digital art book, digital comic, and a documentary featuring the actors for Max and Chloe (Hannah Telle and Rhianna DeVries).
The fancy Collector’s Edition includes a 24″ x 12″ poster, guitar picks, art cards, a 12″ vinyl soundtrack, and a box and sleeve with exclusive artwork.
The original Life Is Strange, and prequel game Before the Storm (which feature Max and Chloe), are available via the Life Is Strange Remastered Collection.
The Life Is Strange series is rated M for Mature.
