Haunted Chocolatier

There’s the usual mix of highly anticipated sequels and beloved developers, though Grand Theft Auto 6 at only #5 is a bit eyebrow-raising. The GTA series is one of the highest-selling and most culturally relevant video game franchises of all time, and it’s been well over a decade since Grand Theft Auto 5. GTA 6 has been delayed twice, with a current release date of November 19, 2026.

Number four’s Stranger Than Heaven is the recently announced original action game from Yakuza developer, RGG Studio. The setting jumps around in 20th century Japan, and looks more grounded and realistic, while still oozing with style.

Meanwhile, you may have forgotten about #3’s game, Haunted Chocolatier. It’s the next pixelated life sim from Eric Barone/ConcernedApe, the incredible one-man dev behind Stardew Valley. Haunted Chocolatier was announced all the way back in 2021. There’s still no release date, but I’d certainly put it in my top five most wanted as well.

Second on the list is 007 First Light, an original James Bond action game from IO Interactive, developers of the Hitman series. Like Casino Royale, the game follows a younger, more reckless Bond as a new recruit in MI6. I’m getting shades of Uncharted from the trailer and it looks like a lot of fun, though #2 is very high praise. First Light is due out on March 27, 2026.

And PC Gamer’s most anticipated game is Slay the Spire 2. While deckbuilders existed before (mostly in actual physical card games), 2019’s Slay the Spire combined the power growth of deckbuilding cards with the challenge and randomization of a roguelike.

With a dark fantasy art style and perfect balance, the indie game became a smash success and spawned an entire genre: the roguelike deckbuilder, which remains popular to this day.

Despite a glutton of Slay the Spire-likes over the years, the sequel is certainly highly anticipated among fans! Slay the Spire 2 will launch first on early access in March 2026.

PC Gamer’s Top 25 Most Wanted games is chosen by “The Council,” an ominous-sounding group made up of developers, journalists, and content creators. Check out the PC Gaming Show Steam page for easy links to all the games, including world premieres and trailers.
