There’s a new trailer for Starsand Island, an ambitious 3D life sim launching later this year. The trailer showcases the sim’s extensive character customization, which also extends to one of Starsand’s most interesting features – vehicles!
In Starsand Island, players will be able to move around the island in a variety of vehicles and travel methods, including cars, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, and even a Fortnite-esque paraglider. The developers, Seed Lab, also tease amphibious craft that can traverse on water.
The modification system lets players customize their vehicles with new paint jobs, as well as decals, interiors, etc. Many vehicles also support extra passengers, including pets and other players.
For the player character, we’ve got the usual assortment of wardrobe options and accessories, though the trailer doesn’t exactly show a breadth of human skin tones or hair styles.
The entire art style for the game is very vibrant, colorful, and anime. It reminds me of Genshin Impact, which isn’t a bad thing!

Starsand Island ran a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year, and is due out in “late 2025.”
