Season 3 of hero shooter Marvel Rivals is set to kick off on July 11, adding another two heroes to the ever-expanding roster. Plus a new map, more Team-Ups, tons of balance changes, and a gloriously animated trailer.
Uh, is that the rave techno music from the first sequence in the original Blade film? Heck yes!!
Season 3 is dubbed “The Abyss Awakens,” and teases the coming of Knull, a villain associated with Venom and the symbiotes. The trailer shows Hela allying with the god of the symbiotes, and battling our new heroes.
The season will finally add half-vampire warrior Blade, who was conspicuously absent from the vampire-themed first season. Phoenix, also known as the mutant hero Jean Grey, is the surprise headliner of the season. As a ranged Duelist, Jean dishes out serious damage with the cosmic power of the Phoenix Force literally by her side.
Phoenix will join the roster at the start of Season 3, while Blade will arrive at the halfway point.
New features coming with season 3 include new accessories that further enhances hero customization. Missions are getting overhauled to make them easier to complete, and a new competitive mode is launching when Blade arrives in the latter half.

And currently enrolled University students can gain access to trail versions of costumes and MVP animations. Students will need to verify their enrollment using their email.
Marvel Rivals is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and rated T for Teen.
