During the PC Gaming Show, part of Summer Game Fest 2025, developer Shiro Games revealed Farever. Farever is an online co-op action-RPG, with an Early Access beta coming to Steam PC later this year.
The colorful art style and sword-twirling gameplay strongly remind of me The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. And that’s great!
The world of Siagarta is teeming with monsters, dungeons, puzzles, platforming challenges, and multiple regions. Sounds like an adventure, though there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of story.
Although playable solo, Farever is built with co-op in mind. The world and content scales to the party’s size (like Diablo?), and diverse parties will be needed to overcome dynamic Rift Invasions that spawn throughout the world (like Oblivion?).
It’s not entirely clear how many players can join together. The trailer and key art clearly showcases three players.
Players can choose one of 10 character classes with traditional RPG roles such as tanking, support, and damage. Combine those classes with over 100 weapons, each with its own skills. Plus, master crafting, gathering, and cooking roles outside of combat. Are we doing World of Warcraft now?
Maybe Farever isn’t the most unique concept, but I’m loving all these inspirations and gameplay ideas from some of my favorite games.
French developer Shiro Games has released several well-received games in a variety of genres, including Dune: Spice Wars (RTS), Northgard (viking city builder), and Wartales (tactical-RPG).
“In Farever, adventure is always around the corner,” said Nicolas Cannasse, CEO, Shiro Games. “We’re thrilled to reveal the game during the PC Gaming Show and can’t wait to invite players to Siagarta for co-op exploration when Farever comes to Steam.”
Farever will arrive on Steam via Early Access later this year.
