After about a year in Early Access, open world survival game Omega Crafter has officially hit 1.0 on Steam. It’s available now with a 30% discount ($17.49).
Omega Crafter is a game-within-a-game. You are a game developer, and the only way to squash the bugs in your upcoming game is to enter its virtual world and smack ’em around.
Seems inefficient, but also way more fun than normal bug fixing!
Thankfully you are not alone. Every player has their own trusty Grammi, a cute little robot sidekick. The Grammi is fully programmable — literally by dragging and dropping code commands into their interface. By programming and coding its automation, Grammi can take care of all the monotonous stuff like gathering resources and crafting new materials.
Players can expand their programming skills by finding and solving Shrines of Programming scattered throughout the world’s five procedurally-generated biomes.
Version 1.0 features a new Creative Mode with over 250 building elements. Plus, new skills, minigames, updated tutortial, and the futuristic ruins of the Lost World biome.
Omega Crafter can be played solo, or with up to six players, each with their own Grammi.
“Thanks to our supportive community, Preferred Networks was able to successfully launch our first game with Omega Crafter,” said Takuya Sato, Product Manager, Preferred Networks. “Our development team is very passionate about the value automation adds to the survival crafting genre. We would like to thank everyone who lent their voice to development during Early Access to help us make this a reality!”
Omega Crafter is available on Steam PC.
