Wholesome Games have announced the return of Wholesome Direct in 2025. The indie showcase will stream on Saturday, June 7 at 9am Pacific/12pm Eastern on YouTube and Twitch, as part of Summer Game Fest (which begins June 6).

This year’s Direct received over 1,500 submissions — my goodness! The team at Wholesame Games select about 60 games from that massive list, including all-new world premieres and other surprises.

The selected games promise to be “artistic, uplifting, and emotionally resonant.” Participating developers include Playstack, btf Games, ustwo Games, and Weta Workshop. Wholesome Games will also provide updates for their published indie games, Is This Seat Taken?, MakeRoom, and an unannounced title.

Merchandise sales from Wholesome Direct will go to non-profit charity Point of Pride, Point of Pride supports trans lives and helps provide access to gender affirming care.

Last year’s Wholesome Direct dropped over a dozen new indie game demos to try out, including detective-adventure On Your Tail.

Wholesome Games and the Wholesome Direct were created by indie developer Matthew Taylor as a community of support for hopeful, cozier indie games. Since 2020, the organization has showcased nearly 375 indie games, and raised over $200,000 for charities.

Summer Game Fest kicks off June 6, followed by the Wholesome Direct on June 7, and the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8.
