GungHo Entertainment has released the Lunar Remastered Collection on Steam PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox ($49.99).
The Lunar Remastered Collection includes Lunar: Silver Star Story, and its sequel, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. The original RPGs released on the Sega CD in 1993 and 1995 in North America. The Remastered Collection specifically features updates to the Complete versions, enhanced remakes which released in ’96 and ’98 on Sega Saturn and PlayStation.
Aside from enhanced graphics and resolutions, the Remastered Collection features new, fully voiced cutscenes, available in English and Japanese. New battle improvements include auto battle and adjustable speed options. Players can also hunt for new collectibles that feature exclusive character art.
Players can choose to play both games with updated widescreen support, enhanced portraits and icons, and more. Or experience them in their late 90s glory with original aspect ratio, cutscenes, and CRT screen filter options.
The Lunar games are beloved RPGs, known for their rich, colorful anime graphics, classic good and evil heroic fantasy storyline, and straightforward turn-based combat.
The sequel is set on the same planet, but set 1000 years after the first game. The most recent non-remake in the series, Lunar Dragon Song, released in North America in 2005 on the Nintendo DS (and was not well-received).
Lunar Remastered Collection is available now on Steam, PlayStation 4/5, Switch, and Xbox One/X/S. It’s rated T for Teen with Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Suggestive Themes, Partial Nudity, Mild Language, and Alcohol Use.
