Indie publisher Super Rare Games and developer Ao Norte have released Tiny Garden, a puzzly farm sim with a tiny toy aesthetic. It’s available now on Steam PC, with a 20% discount through April 15 ($10.39).

In Tiny Garden, players are given a magical compact case with a turn-crank. The design reminds me of the charming Polly Pocket toys (or Mighty Max!) from the 1990s. Plus the uh, crank from that weird Playdate handheld.

Within the toy, players can grow vegetables and flowers on the lower-end, while using the top-half to decorate their home.

In a unique twist, there are no time-limits, or day-night cycle, or any stress whatsoever. Simply turning the crank grows the plants.

By growing different plants in various formations, players discover new plants, and unlock furniture for the home. Unlocking new plants, objects, and furniture unveils the hidden history behind the toy, and its previous owners.

A Supporter’s Pack includes a new color scheme, sticker, and ambient clouds — but it’s mostly a $1 tip for the developers. The digital soundtrack and artbook are also available as extras, with official DLC, “Summer Breeze,” arriving later this Summer.

Tiny Garden is available now on Steam. It has not yet by verified for Steam Deck.
