Ravensburger announced a new Villainous stand-alone spinoff in Disney Villainous Unstoppable!, releasing later this summer.
Unstoppable! features a lot more player interactivity than Villainous thanks to the shared board. Players take on the role of four different villains: Hades, Maleficent, Scar, and Ursula. Players take turns moving around the board, taking actions, and trying to collect the tokens for their evil plan.
In a nod to Villainous, each villain also has their own distinct realm, in addition to the main board. Villains will have to defeat heroes, as well as overcome their fellow villains to achieve victory.
Disney Villainous Unstoppable is designed for 2-4 players, and suitable for ages 7+. That’s a lower age range than standard Disney Villainous (10+). It’s also a much lower price point, at only $19.99.
“We know people love Villainous, but one of the most common things we hear from our fans is that they love the game’s immersion, artwork, and style, and wished there was an easy way to bring that joy to kids or families who might not have time to play a longer strategy game,” said Lysa Penrose, Head of New Games Marketing, Ravensburger. “Disney Villainous Unstoppable! is designed with that in mind, and brings that storytelling to a new, more traditional gaming experience that feels at home with other game night classics.”
Ravensburger also teased two more expansions coming to Disney Villainous and Star Wars Villainous later this year. As with previous expansions, they are “expandalones,” meaning you can play with only the components in the expansion, without the base games. The Villainous expansion will introduce the first live-action Villain to the Villainous series.
