Upcoming open world survival craft Lost Skies will get its first demo during Steam Next Fest later this month. Humble Games and developer Bossa Studios have also released a new trailer. It’s called “Cinematic Trailer” but actually looks like a lot of cool gameplay!
Lost Skies is a cooperative survival crafting game, set in an alien world of floating islands. Up to six players can explore the islands, battle creatures, and master the unique vertical movement with wingsuits and grappling hooks.
A major selling point are the Skyships. Players can build, customize, and embark on their own Skyship, creating a home and a fortress. The Skyship becomes a mobile base that your party can take with them as they explore the world.
A Lost Skies: Island Creator is available now, letting players create their own islands with enemies and treasures, and upload them to Steam Workshop.
Some gamers may recognize Bossa Studios for Worlds Adrift, an MMO adventure that ran from 2017-2019. Worlds Adrift also featured explorable floating islands and player-built airships. Scaling down the spiritual successor to a co-op PvE experience looks like a smart move.
Steam Next Fest will begin on February 24, and run through March 3. As with previous Steam Fests, the event will celebrate and highlight dozens of indie games, including discounts and live streams from developers.
A release date for Lost Skies has not yet been announced.
