It’s early January, which can only mean one thing: the return of Awesome Games Done Quick! The beloved speedrunning marathon kicks off its biggest annual event this Sunday, January 5, at the Wyndham Grand in Pittsburgh, PA.
The event begins with a Pikmin speedrun at 9am Eastern/12pm Pacific on Sunday, and streams 24/7 on the official Games Done Quick Twitch channel. Streams are then uploaded to the Games Done Quick YouTube channel for video on demand.
Astro Bot is one of the new additions to the schedule, with a two and a half hour speedrun scheduled for Sunday afternoon into evening. There’s also an under-30 minute speedrun of Unicorn Overlord, a strategy game that took me over fifty hours. Yeesh!
Tune into the hilarious lineup of Awful Games Done Quick next Wednesday night into Thursday morning, which include Superman 64, Squirrel with a Gun, and Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon.
You don’t want to miss the epic six hour run of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (Friday, Jan. 10), or Crazy Taxi with the live band (Saturday, Jan. 11). See the full Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 schedule here.
During AGDQ, talented speedrunners tackle games across every genre and era imaginable in order to beat them as quickly as possible. All donations made during the event go directly to the nonprofit organization.
Last year’s AGDQ raised over $2.5 million for Prevent Cancer Foundation. Games Done Quick has raised over $5o million to date.
