During the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase, Midwest Games and Turkish indie developer Permanent Way Entertainment announced The Legend of Baboo, coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
The Legend of Baboo is a third-person action-adventure inspired by Turkish culture. Young Sepehr and his loyal dog Baboo must work together on a fantastical journey to save his family from an ancient evil.
During their journey, our heroes traverse a magical island of puzzles and challenges, including dark forests and rushing rivers.
Sepehr and Baboo are both fully playable, and have their own RPG-like skill trees and abilities. Sepehr wields a magic staff, while Baboo has claws and a super-bark to battle evil demonic forces. By defeating powerful bosses, the pair can unlock special magic attacks that can clear entire rooms.
And yes, not only can you pet the dog, but you can ride him as well — Baboo is delightfully big (and so fluffy!). And like Nix in Star Wars Outlaws, you can find outfits and customization options for Baboo throughout the adventure.
The Legend of Baboo is due out next year on PC (Steam) and XBox Series X/S. It’s rated E10+.
