Annapurna Interactive and BlueTwelve Studio announced a partnership with Skybound Games to bring 2022 adventure game Stray to Nintendo Switch — including a physical edition, on November 19 ($39.99).
In addition to the game cartridge (hey, some physical editions don’t include it!), the physical edition of Stray also includes six art cards featuring in-game characters.
Unlike this year’s happy-go-lucky cat-facing adventure, Little Kitty, Big City, Stray is a much more serious adventure. As a stray cat in a future ruined city of robots, players navigate through alleyways, rooftops, and buildings. With a helpful drone named B-12, the cat can complete quests for friendly robots, while avoiding security drones, and mutated bacteria (which probably wiped out humanity).
Ultimately players discover the fate of the world, and the robots, all while being a cat.
Stray was largely successful on its release, with cinematic cutscenes, an intriguing world, and an admittedly cute protagonist. The visual design was a major positive, though judging from the trailer, some of the fancier graphics have been downgraded for the Nintendo Switch release.
Stray is rated E10+ for fantasy violence and animated blood. Pre-orders are available now. Physical editions are also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (and digitally on PC, PS5, and Xbox).
