Ghost sims are coming in new Life & Death Expansion Pack for The Sims 4, launching October 31 on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox ($39.99).

This haunted expansion pack adds three new neighborhoods to the city of Ravenwood.

Crow’s Crossing is a spooky village with a cemetery, mysterious merchants, and haunted houses. Whispering Glen is a more rural site with spooky ruins and a Full Moon festival. The Grim Reaper himself shows up in the forests and bogs of Mourningvale.

When a Sim dies, they can remain as a Ghost Sim, wielding new Ghost Powers as they haunt (or help) their living neighbors. Ghost Sims even continue to earn Fear or Goodwill from their actions, and can “pair up for a special, spectral Woohoo inside objects.”

Sims can also experience a Rebirth by completing their Soul’s Journey, and checking off items from their dynamic Bucket List. Ghosts can also continue the Soul’s Journey as Unfinished Business, working towards a stronger form, or Rebirth. Rebirthed Sims gain the Burning Soul trait, and can unlock past skills, traits, and milestones.

The expansion pack also adds two new death-related professions: the Reaper and the Undertaker. The Undertaker puts Sims into the funeral industry, another new addition that includes fourteen different activities. The Reaper joins Sims to the Netherworld Department of Death as they usher souls into the afterlife.

Players who purchase the expansion pack before December 12 will unlock several in-game items, including a family portrait, haunting music box, and masquerade mask.

The Sims 4: Life & Death Expansion Pack will release on October 31. It’s rated T for Teen.
