Speedrunning charity organization Games Done Quick has announced Disaster Relief Done Quick to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Helene, a category 4 hurricane that has devastated the southeastern United States.

The emergency charity drive will begin on Friday, October 11 at 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern and run through the weekend, ending October 13 at 9pm Pacific/midnight Eastern. The streaming marathon will air live on the Games Done Quick twitch channel.

Any donations made during the event will go to Direct Relief, which provides humanitarian aid to disaster victims and areas, including transportation, medical supplies, and more.

Interested speedrunners can still submit to join the lineup, but need to act fast. Submissions close October 6 at midnight Eastern time.

It’s an impressively fast turnaround time for Games Done Quick. For example, submissions for next year’s big annual charity event, Awesome Games Done Quick 2025, closes October 7, and the event doesn’t begin until January 1, 2025!

Since submissions are still open, the schedule of streaming events has not yet been announced.

Games Done Quick has been organizing speedrun marathons and raising money for charity since 2010. They reached $50 million in lifetime donations earlier this year during Summer Games Done Quick.
