Warner Bros. Games revealed the release date for new fighter Beetlejuice to MultiVersus. The wise-cracking Ghost with the Most will debut on Aug 20. It’s a few weeks before the big film sequel hits theaters on September 6.

Beetlejuice enters the multiversal fighting game as an Assassin class. He employs many of his wacky abilities from the movies (and awesome 90s cartoon), including spooky shapeshifting and beetle-summoning.

Beetlejuice’s arrival will also add new themed skins to other fighters, donning his signature pinstripe suit and pale complexion.

MultiVersus is in the middle of its second season, Back in Time, which also added Samurai Jack to the roster. The platform fighting game is heavily inspired by Super Smash Bros, but more competitive, and free-to-play. In-app purchases include fighters, skins, and a battle pass.

Other WB-licensed fighters include Bugs Bunny, Shaggy and Velma from Scooby Doo, Steven Universe, The Iron Giant, and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. A large chunk of the roster includes DC super heroes and villains, such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker.

MultiVersus also includes a few deep cuts, such as Gizmo and Stripe from the Gremlins series.

Beetlejuice looks like a fun addition to the game, and a clever tie-in with the upcoming movie.

MultiVersus is free to play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s rated T for Teen.
