Underrated hero shooter Star Wars: Hunters is entering its second season this week. Season 2: Empire Resurgent is all about the Galactic Empire, with themed weapons and skins, a new imperial droid character, and a lava-encrusted map.

The new hunter is K-A0S, a KX-series security droid with massive shield-arms (a more famous example of a KX-droid is K-2S0 from Rogue One). K-A0S is a tank who uses her bulky arms to charge forward and bat foes away. She can bring combine her shield-arms to form a turret mode, while her ultimate ability, Aftershock, devastates the area around her.

The reveal trailer teases that Grozz’s droid arm-clubs may actually be from K-A0S, hence her new replacements.

Like Aran Tal, K-A0S will be available exclusively via the Premium Arena Pass.

Vader’s Castle is a new map inspired by the legendary villain’s stronghold. It features flowing rivers of lava, Sith artifacts, and holograms of the iconic villain.

The new season will add hundreds of new cosmetic pieces to unlock (and/or purchase), including over 80 costumes. Much of it is based around the evil empire, including Imperial officer uniforms for each character.

Star Wars: Hunters Season 2 also adds some new balance changes, including some much needed nerfs to Sentinel’s Suppressing Shot.

Season 2 starts August 1. Star Wars: Hunters is free-to-play on Switch and mobile platforms. It’s rated T for Teen.
