Frontier Developments, developer behind Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution, confirmed they’ve acquired the license for a third Jurassic World Evolution game. Presumably named Jurassic World Evolution 3, it’s due out between June 2025 and May 2026.
The new as-yet untitled Jurassic World film has a tentative release date of July 2, 2025.
The first two Jurassic World Evolution games are Frontier’s best-selling games within their first two years. The original Jurassic World Evolution, which released in 2018, remains Frontier’s single best-selling game.
“We are delighted to reveal that we are developing a third Jurassic World game to extend our collaborative relationship with Universal for our best-selling game franchise,” said Jonny Watts, CEO. “Our Jurassic World Evolution game franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre. I very much look forward to providing more information on our exciting plans for the franchise in the future.”
Fans of Frontier’s deeper sim management games, such as Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster, needn’t fret, however. The press release also confirmed that Frontier will release two more “creative management sims,” within the next three years. Together with Jurassic World Evolution 3, that’s one new sim game every year. Nice!
Neither of the two other sim games have been formally announced yet. The first is coming by the end of May May 2025 (Frontier’s fiscal year), and should be announced in the coming months. The second unannounced game will release the year following Jurassic World Evolution (before the end of May 2027).
We are big fans of Frontier’s sim games, and look forward to the next few years!
