Multiplayer 4-1 game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is getting a second year of free DLC, including a DLC pack based on the recent feature film, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
The first DLC pack, releasing later this month, is all about Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The DLC adds Garraka, the Death Chill ghost villain from the film, as a playable ghost. The DLC also adds more proton packs and cosmetics for the ‘busters.
Future DLC will add more ghosts, gadgets, and cosmetics, including a 40th Anniversary announcement for the franchise.

“We have been so focused on building an immersive world, one fans would recognize and appreciate,” said Jared Gerritzen, Chief Creative Officer, IllFonic. “Our goal now is to double down on the feel. As a long-time Ghostbusters fan, I want to feel immersed. Our drive for DLC year two: heighten the fun, heighten the experience.”
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is in theaters now, and stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace. It’s a direct sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Aftermath.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a delightfully fun co-op game that pits four ghostbusters versus 1 ghost, any of which can be played by AI bots or other players. Players must work together to track and capture the ghost, while the ghost player must raise the haunt level while evading the pesky ‘busters.
Original Ghostbusters Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) appear as in-game characters.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition, released in 2023, includes additional story content, and previously released DLC. It’s available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated E10+.
