There’s no new Pokémon game this year – but there may as well will be with the DLC for Scarlet and Violet, and all the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet events running during the month of December.

First, part two of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, is out December 14. The Indigo Disk adds the Blueberry Academy, a school floating on the ocean.

See the new final trailer above.

New features include roaming as Pokémon with the Synchro Machine, upgraded flight with Miraidon or Koraidon, and a way to encounter Legendary Pokémon after completing the story.

Seasonal mass outbreaks are happening around Paldea, Kitakami (from part 1, the Teal Mask, and the Blueberry Academy (when it releases). Until December 21st, trainers can find outbreaks of Flabébé (Paldea), Litwick (Kitakami), and new Pokémon Milcery (Blueberry Academy). Outbreaks are a great way to hunt for shiny Pokémon.

Starting today trainers can battle legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palika in 5-star Tera Raid battles. So far this is the only way to catch these Pokémon. Dialga appears in Scarlet raid battles and Palika in Violet. They each have the Dragon Tera type.

Each trainer can only catch each Pokémon once per save data. These Legendary raid battles are available until December 21st.

Finally, trainers can gain two rare Pokémon simply by claiming the Mystery Gift!

To claim the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai, enter the password: NEWMOON1SC0M1NG in the Mystery Gift section of the Poké Portal.

While you’re there, enter the password SH1NYBUDDY to nab a shiny level 75 Lucario!

You have until December 21st for Darkrai, and January 3, 2024 for Shiny Lucario.
