The first half of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC is out now on Switch.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero can be purchased on the Nintendo eShop for $34.99 (make sure you purchase the correct version for Scarlet or Violet). The price includes both expansions, but only Part 1, The Teal Mask, is available right now, with Part 2, The Indigo Disk, unlocking later this year.

The Teal Mask adds the rural country land of Kitakami. You’ll set out on a field trip and meet new teacher Ms. Briar, and siblings Carmine and Kieran.

Kitakami includes new and old Pokémon. Newcomers include the ghostly Matcha, the Candy Apple evolution Dipplin, and three protector Pokémon from Kitakami lore: Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti.

Returning favorites include Snorlax, Vulpix, and Poochyena, with more to come in Part 2, including all the Starter Pokémon from past games.

Co-op players can enjoy a new minigame called Ogre Oustin.’ Collect berries by popping balloons to reach a high score and receive stat-altering mochi as a reward.

You don’t need to finish the lengthy main story in Scarlet and Violet to play the DLC. As long as you begin the main quest (a few hours into the game) you can access The Teal Mask.

Purchase The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero by October 31 to receive a Hisuian Zororak as an early-adopter bonus. This version has a Dark Tera Type, and knows the moves Happy Hour, Tera Blast, Bitter Malice, and Nasty Plot.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch. They’re rated E for Everyone.
