City management fans are eagerly awaiting Cities Skylines 2 (releasing October 24), but there’s another game fans may need to watch for. Highrise City just received its final update in Early Access, which means it will be launching as 1.0 soon on Steam.

The final Early Access update is called the Science Update. It adds new research missions, an overhauled UI, new buildings, more milestones, and lots quality of life improvements.

The full release will add public transportation, mega skyscrapers, and more story missions, making it the biggest update yet.

Compared to other sim city games, Highrise City is more about managing resources and supply chains, like the Anno series. Only by building the right types, manufacturing goods, and managing resources can you build a towering metropolis.

Gameplay features over 250 building types, up to 196 sq km maps, adjustable difficulty, building editors, and up to 30,000 buildings per city.

Also, you can drive a car around your city, which is pretty spiffy.

Highrise City is currently on sale for 20% off ($19.99) as part of the Steam Summer Sale, which ends July 13. The price will change (read: go up) after the game leaves Early Access.
