It’s a great week for Mario + Rabbids fans. Ubisoft has released a free demo of the recent sequel, Sparks of Hope, as well as the first DLC pack.

The demo includes the entire prologue and parts of the first planet. Players can explore Beacon Beach for about two hours of gameplay to get a feel for this fun blending of the Mario world, Rabbids humor, and turn-based tactical combat.

The demo is available on the Nintendo eShop.

The first DLC pack for Sparks of Hope is also out, exclusively for Season Pass owners. In The Tower of Doooom, Mario and friends explore the mysterious tower at the behest of Madame Bwahstrella.

The tower features procedurally generated levels as players work their way toward the top. Players start with four heroes with random Sparks. By winning battles they can build and upgrade their team to survive increasingly challenging fights.

Sparks of Hope is the sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Mario, Rabbid Peach, and other heroes go on an adventure beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and into the galaxy. Engage in turn-based tactical combat, and earn Sparks that bestow special powers and abilities.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The Season Pass is available for $29.99, or as part of the Gold Edition that includes the base game ($89.99).

Mario + Rabbids is rated E10+ with Cartoon Violence. Read a handy parent’s guide to the game at the official website.
