February 27 is Pokémon Day, the day the original Pokémon Red and Green released in Japan. This year, it’s also the day of a Pokémon Presents stream, which revealed new events for ongoing Pokémon games, DLC plans for Scarlet and Violet, and a long-awaited update on Pokémon Sleep.

The biggest news was the anticipated announcement of DLC for Scarlet and Violet. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will launch later this year. Like the DLC in Sword and Shield, it will release in two parts.

Part 1 is called The Teal Mask, where you’ll visit the land of Kitakami on a school trip.

Part 2, The Indigo Disk, has you traveling to Blueberry Academy as an exchange student.

Both DLC parts will feature new and familiar Pokémon who can’t normally be found in Paldea. They also tease two new Legendary Pokémon: Ogerpon and Terapagos.

The Teal Mask will release this fall, with The Indigo Disk arriving later this winter. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is available now for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop ($34.99). If you purchase the DLC by October 31, you’ll receive a Hisuian Zoroark via a download code.

Other Scarlet and Violet news includes new Paradox Pokémon appearing in event Tera Raid Battles. Starting now, Scarlet players can battle Walking Wake (Water/Dragon Type), and Violet trainers can encounter Iron Leaves (Grass/Psychic Type).

Scarlet and Violet players can also now connect with Pokémon GO. Postcards sent from GO to Scar-Vi can alter the pattern of Vivillion. Sending postcards to the mobile game will add Roaming Form Gimmighoul, allowing GO players to work on getting those coins needed to evolve Gholdengo.

Pokémon Sleep was originally announced in 2019! Our first official update in FOUR YEARS revealed how the mobile game will work.

By leaving your smartphone by your pillow while you sleep, the app will track your sleep habit. Sleep will be categorized in one of three types: dozing, snoozing, and slumbering. Different Pokémon will gather around Snorlax depending on your sleep type.

Pokémon Sleep will launch this summer. A new Pokémon GO Plus accessory with lullaby-singing Pikachu will release on July 14.

Other Pokémon news includes the announcement of a new stop-motion animation Pokémon series on Netflix called Pokémon Concierge. It stars Haru, and is set on an island resort with visiting Pokémon. Pokémon Unite is adding Zacian, the Legendary Pokémon from Pokémon Sword, onto the roster. And Pokémon Café Remix is adding the Paldea’s starter Pokémon, allowing players to choose one of them to join their staff.
