Octopath Traveler 2 is launching on February 24, but Square Enix has dropped an early demo. The Octopath Traveler 2 Prologue Demo features all eight protagonists, and allows play for three hours within the starting area.

The Prologue Demo is available now on Steam, PlayStation, and Switch digital stores. Any progress made during the demo will carry over to the full game.

The sequel features an all new storyline in a new world. It uses the same charming HD-2D visual style, blending 2D character sprites within a 3D world.

As in the original game, players will choose and swap between eight different main characters throughout the campaign, each of who uses a different class and specialty. The travelers can use their unique “path actions” to accomplish their goals, such as stealing needed items with the Thief. Path actions also change depending on the new day/night cycle.

The sequel promises more interactivity between the travelers as their stories progress. In battle, characters can unleash a powerful new abilities by building up an ability gauge during combat.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available for pre-order on PC, PlayStation, and Switch. A physical Collector’s Edition is available for PlayStation and Switch, exclusively on the Square Enix Store. It includes a Travelers Bust Set, 33-page art book, and mini soundtrack CD.

Pre-orders of both editions will receive the Travel Provisions DLC pack, which includes some in-game goodies.

Octopath Traveler 2 is rated T for Teen.
