During The Game Awards 2022, Square Enix revealed a new trailer for single player RPG, Final Fantasy 16, along with a release date. Final Fantasy 16 will launch on June 22, 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Final Fantasy 16 is set in the fantasy world of Valisthea. Some men and women, known as Dominants, are imbued with the power to summon powerful creatures and entities, known as Eikons. The story centers on Clive Rosfield, a warrior sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, who carries the Dominant of the Phoenix, and the tragedy and vengeance that soon follows.

The RPG will launch with standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions. The Deluxe Edition ($99) includes a cloth map and Steelbook Case. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($89) includes a mini artbook and soundtrack.

The Collector’s Edition features a Phoenix vs Ifrit statue, Metal pin collection, cloth map, in-game weapon DLC, and a Steelbook case. The Collector’s Edition will be available for pre-order beginning on Monday, December 12.

All pre-orders will receive the Braveheart and Cait Sith Charm DLCs.

The previous game in the main series, Final Fantasy 15, released in 2016 and was a critical and commercial success, making it one of the best-selling Final Fantasy games of all time.

Final Fantasy 16 will release on June 22, 2023. It’s rated M for Mature.
