A new PlayStation State of Play streamed this week, announcing new games and DLC, most of which is releasing later this year. Note that almost all of these games are multiplatform, and also releasing for PC, Switch, and Xbox!

Exoprimal

Exoprimal is an all-new IP from Capcom. The near-future is constantly invaded by angry dinosaurs coming in waves through portals. Naturally our best defense is an advanced technology corporation of AIs and exo-suit fighters! Exoprimal is a co-op survival game with a competitive twist: rival squads of five are competing with another team to complete objectives and avoid becoming dino-snacks. Exosuits come in different classes, including melee, tank, sniper, and support, and customize their loadout for each mission.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

The latest trailer for first-person action-adventure Ghostwire: Tokyo showcased more of the gameplay, including the unique karate-meets-spellcasting gesture attacks. The Deluxe Edition includes 3-day early access (for PlayStation Plus members) as well as in-game outfit and weapons. Pre-orders also receive the Hannya Outfit and Premium Biker Outfit.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection

Turtles fans are in for a great year. Shredder’s Revenge is launching later this year as a long-coming follow-up to the TMNT beat ’em ups of the 80s and 90s. During the State of Play, Konami announced The Cowabunga Collection, which bundles all 13 classic TMNT arcade and console games, with modern features such as rewind and save anywhere.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R

This year marks the 35th anniversary of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and the 10th anniversary of the anime. All Star Battle R is a remaster of the 2013 fighting game based on the striking art by Hirohiko Araki, featuring 50 playable characters and multiple modes. The signature mode, All Star Battle mode, features a gauntlet of 100 battles with different settings and conditions.

Gundam Evolution

Based on the popular mecha anime, Gundam Evolution is a free-to-play first-person shooter featuring teams of mechs battling in 6v6 matches. Three modes are available in point capture, domination, and destruction. A closed network test is coming this spring for PS4 and PS5 players.

Returnal: Ascension

Returnal was one of the best PlayStation games released last year. This year, fans are getting a big, and free, expansion in Ascension. Ascension adds a new two-player co-op mode, including private and online matchmaking. Both players play as Selene, and cannot roam too far apart. Asecnsion also adds a new endless mode with the challenging Tower of Sisyphus, which includes a new story and a new boss.

Valkyrie Elysium

Valkyrie Elysium is an action-JRPG that draws heavily from Norse mythology. This new entry in the Valkyrie Profile series features a new, fast-paced combat system, while the story takes place in the distant past. Fans will be pleased to hear that series composer Motoi Sakuraba returns for the score.

DioField Chronicle

DioField Chronicle is a strategy-RPG from Square Enix, set in a war-torn fantasy world. A band of mercenaries called the Blue Fox fights back against the powerful Empire, unleashing flashy attacks in isometric, tactical battlefields.
