Who would’ve guessed that Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania would be full of fun cross-promotional DLC characters? Taking a page from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Hello Kitty joins the likes of Morgana (from Persona 5) and Sonic the Hedgehog as the latest character to get trapped in a ball.
The famous pop culture icon will be available as DLC for $4.99 when Banana Mania launches on October 5, 2021. Hello Kitty doesn’t include any special abilities, other than being super adorable.
Banana Mania is an HD remaster of the first three Super Monkey Ball games, which originally launched on the GameCube in the early 2000s. Super Monkey Ball is a 3D platformer where you roll around platforms and ramps as a monkey in a ball, collecting bananas and avoiding falling off.
The catch is that you don’t control your character, you instead control the world by tilting it in different directions to get the ball rolling, like those old marble labyrinth games.
Banana Mania will include all 300 stages from the original games, as well as several new modes and support for cooperative local multiplayer with up to four players.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will release on October 5 for Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated E10+.
