Online free-to-play MOBA Pokémon Unite gets its 22nd Pokémon, and second post-launch Pokémon, with Blissey, available now for 8,000 Aeos Coins (or 460 gems).

Blissey is a melee support Pokémon, with a difficulty rating of novice. It starts out as Chansey and evolves into Blissey at level four. Blissey fills the support and healer role with low offense and scoring but tons of support utility, with moves like Soft-Boiled, which heals allies, and Safeguard, which removes negative status conditions.

At level eight, Blissey can use her unite move, Bliss Assistance. Blissey runs to an ally Pokémon, giving them a shield and a buff, and redirecting some incoming damage.

During the recent Pokémon Presents broadcast, The Pokémon Company teased the next two Pokémon coming to Unite: Mamoswine and Sylveon.

I was wondering how they would handle Eevee in Unite and its many “eevelutions.” Apparently the answer is just to make them separate Pokémon. Which is fine. I’m guessing Sylveon is another ranged attacker.

Mamoswine is a much deeper cut, not a very popular Pokémon or an obvious fighter, which makes it a more exciting addition. Hopefully another chonky defender Pokémon! No release dates were given for either Pokémon. Many Unite fans are annoyed that Blastoise, who has been teased since before release (Wartortle is actually in the tutorial) still hasn’t been added.

Pokémon Unite is available on Nintendo Switch and launching on iOS and mobile devices on September 22nd. Pre-registration is available now on both platforms.
