Mattel, along with Italian developer Milestone, released a 30-minute gameplay stream showcasing pre-alpha gameplay of upcoming racing game Hot Wheels Unleashed. Hot Wheels Unleashed is launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) on September 30.

The showcase stream features lead game designer Federico Cardini and executive producer Michele Caletti as they provide a deep dive into the game’s features and modes. Watch the full stream above (which starts about 15 minutes in), and the new gameplay trailer below.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a multiplayer racing game based on the popular toy line, with an art style, cars, and tracks directly lifted from the toys. Players can unlock, collect, and customize their own Hot Wheels cars, including the six cars revealed in the video: Rodger Dodger, Twin Mill, Rip Rod, Night Shifter, Dragon Blaster, and Sharkruiser (all of which have been individually trademarked by Mattel). Over 60 vehicles will be available at launch.

The racing game will also include wacky toy tracks set in real-life locations, using lots of environmental hazards and interactive items. Players can also use the track editor to build and customize their own tracks and share them online.

Pre-orders are available now, including a Collector’s Edition, Ultimate Stunt Edition, and Challenge Accepted Edition, which includes steelbook packaging, fold-out poster, and the Hot Wheels season pass for future content. Hot Wheels Unleashed will arrive on September 30.
