Nintendo has announced that the Switch was the top-selling console in the US in the month of November, according to the NPD Group. That’s particularly impressive in a month that saw the release of the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft: the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Nintendo featured another Black Friday bundle that included the Switch and a digital code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – pretty much the same as previous years, though also included a three month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, which is required for online multiplayer.

Combined sales of the Switch and Switch Lite reached over 1.35 million units. We got our oldest a Switch Lite for Christmas this year, so we were responsible for one of those! The Switch has been on a hot streak for two years running as the best-selling console for 24 consecutive months.

In 11 months in 2020, the Switch sold nearly 7 million units in the US, about half a million more than the total sold in all of 2019.

“Nintendo Switch offers a unique proposition for shoppers this holiday season with the ability to play on the TV or portably in handheld mode,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior VP. “We continue to see unprecedented demand for Nintendo Switch, and we are pleased that people of all ages and gaming skill levels will be experiencing Nintendo Switch this holiday and beyond.”
