THQ Nordic is releasing a “Rehydrated” full HD remake of the 2003 3D platformer SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. It’s coming next year to PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. As announced this week it’s also getting not one but two different Collector’s Editions. Pre-orders are available now.

Judging by the prices these special editions are designed for the hardcore SpongeBob fans. The Shiny Edition (trailer above) includes an 8″ SpongeBob figurine with a disturbingly flexible tongue, a pair of branded athletic socks, six lithograph art pages, a selection of wall stickers, and a physical copy of the game for $149.

Not enough? Check out the F.U.N. edition (trailer below), which features everything in the Shiny Edition as well as two more figurines of Patrick and Sandy and a set of five tiki keyrings. The F.U.N. Edition will set you back a cool $299.99, which is also the price of a brand new Nintendo Switch.

Battle for Bikini Bottom is a classic collect-a-thon 3D platformer from the PS2 era. Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy to save Bikini Bottom from the evil machinations of Plankton and his army of robots. Collect shiny objects and Patrick’s socks to access new areas and gain rewards, and interact with series characters like Squidward and Mr. Krabs.

Aside from the obvious graphical face-lift, the remake adds in a new multiplayer mode that was cut from the original release. Up to two players will be able to join forces in both online and local cooperative multiplayer. A special boss fight against Robo Squidward has also been restored in the remake.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated will arrive sometime next year. The remake has a pending rating from the ESRB, but the original was rated E for Everyone.
