PC Monster Hunter players can finally journey into Hoarfrost Reach with the release of the large 2019 expansion, Iceborne. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne releases today on Steam ($39.99), adding new post-game content with a new region, new monsters, and new armor sets.

To access the new content in Iceborne, you’ll need to first complete the main story in Monster Hunter: World and reach Hunter Rank 16. Iceborne adds an additional challenge level called Master Rank, with new bounties and missions for Master Rank monsters.

Aside from an entirely new region and monsters, Iceborne adds a new Clutch Claw tool for easier monster mounting, improved two-player balance, and Hunter Helper system to encourage higher rank players to help out newbies.

The PC version includes a high resolution texture pack, DirectX 12 support, and revamped mouse and keyboard controls.

To celebrate the release of Iceborne on PC, two item packs are being offered as free login bonuses. The first item pack includes dozens of potions, berries, and a Gold Wyvern Print, and is available for all PC players of Monster Hunter World. The second will be available to Iceborne PC players only and includes Tranq Bombs, Heavy Armor Spheres, and a Golden Egg. You’ll need to login before Feb. 5 to claim them all.

More good news for PC Monster Hunters: content updates from here on out are expected to align with the console version. No more waiting!

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available now on PC (Steam), and also for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It’s rated T for Teen.
