Developer Ghost Games and publisher Electronic Arts have released the latest entry in the Fast and Furious-like racing series, Need for Speed. Need for Speed Heat is available now on PC (Origin), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

“At its core Need for Speed is about custom rides, adrenaline-filled races with cops and without them and showcasing the latest in car customization. With Need for Speed Heat we’ve dialed those core tenants up and dropped them into a vibrant new world,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director, Ghost Games. “Heat offers two firsts for the series including a unique day and night cycle that offers players two ways to play, and customizable avatars so they can express themselves beyond just their wheels.”

Need for Speed Heat is set in the Miami-inspired city of Palm City, which happens to be a street-racer’s paradise. During the day players can join in legitimate racing events to earn cash, but at night the illegal street racing is all about earning reputation.

Heat features a huge list of licensed cars, which players can further customize for performance and style. Players can also customize their character with 12 preset avatars and lots of clothing and accessories.

Need for Speed Heat is part of EA Access. Subscribers can play for up to 10 hours, and receive a 10% discount on the purchase. Need for Speed Heat is rated T for Teen.
