Frontier Developments (Planet Coaster, Jurassic World Evolution) announced that a special early access beta for Planet Zoo will run from September 24 to October 8. Access to this beta will be limited to players who pre-order Planet Zoo Deluxe Edition ($54.99).

The early access beta will include the first scenario from Planet Zoo’s career mode, and a biome from Franchise mode.

Aside from access to the beta, the Deluxe Edition also includes three exclusive animals: Komodo Dragon, Pygmy Hippopotamus, and Thomson’s Gazelle, as well as desktop wallpapers and original soundtrack.

Planet Zoo will feature a narrative-driven Career mode and a freeform sandbox mode in Franchise. In Career mode players will be put in charge of zoos around the world, meeting characters and making sure these zoos find and maintain success.

Franchise mode lets players build, manage, and develop their own zoo, and includes Daily Challenges and weekly Community Goals. Community Goals unite Planet Zoo players with shared objectives they can work towards. An online Animal Exchange allows players to trade animals to increase diversity and well-being in their zoos.

Planet Zoo and the Deluxe Edition are launching November 5 on PC (Steam). The early access beta runs September 24 to October 8. Planet Zoo has not yet been rated.
