To promote the upcoming release of highly anticipated sequel Borderlands 3 (Sept. 13), Gearbox and Epic Games have created a cross promotional event with Borderlands and Fortnite, called Fortnite X Mayhem.
During the limited-time event, Fortnite’s Rift Zone has been remade into Borderlands’ signature cel-shaded art style. New Borderlands Prefabs have also been added to Fortnite Creative.
The Psycho Bundle cosmetic pack can be purchased in the game store, which includes the Psycho Bandit outfit, Psycho Buzz Axes, and a talking Claptrap pet as a backpack. Alternatively you can pre-order or purchase Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store to unlock the Psycho Bundle for free, using the same account. The free Psycho Bundle pack will be available through December 2020.
Fortnite players can also grab the free Welcome to Pandora Challenge Bundle as part of Season 10’s challenges. Rewards include Mayhem Wrap, Vault Hunter Banner, Psycho Spray, and Crunk Bunny Spray.
The Fortnite X Mayhem event ends September 6. Players are encourage to submit pictures and videos using the #FortniteXMayhem hashtag on Instragram, Reddit, and Twitter.
Borderlands 3 will arrive September 13 on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Note that Borderlands is rated M for Mature with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language. Fortnite is rated T for Teen.
