The latest expansion for The Sims 4, Island Living, was shown at the EA Play 2019 press conference. Island Living adds a new beach location, new careers, and mermaids.

Island Living adds the new tropical island location of Sulani. Sulani has lots of beach and water activities such as canoing, playing with dolphins, swimming, and building sandcastles.

The new conservationist career tasks Sims with cleaning up the environment, fishing for meals, and acting as a lifeguard at the beach.

“With Island Living, the development team wanted to give players the chance to escape with their Sims to a peaceful, unique paradise and truly connect with nature,” said Mike Duke, Senior Producer, Maxis. “This expansion will enable fans and their Sims to find their bliss, whether it is relaxing under a palm tree on the beach, befriending a mermaid along the coral reefs, or protecting the Sulani environment and ensuring that the island becomes more beautiful than ever.”

For Pride Month, EA is partnering with the non-profit It Gets Better Project, which supports LGBTQ+ young people. On June 18 for PC (July for console), players will be able to add It Gets Better and Pride clothing in The Sims 4, as well as several Pride-related items, like a gender-neutral bathroom door.

The Sims 4: Island Living is coming to PC and Mac on June 21, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One July 16. EA also teased the next expansion to The Sims 4 – Realm of Magic, coming later this year.
