Nintendo has launched a promo event with Target stores in the United States this Summer. Starting May 11 you’ll be able to download a rare shiny Pikachu for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and a shiny Eevee for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!

In order to receive them, you’ll need to download a new, official Pokémon app, Pokémon Pass. Pokémon Pass is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. The app will be used going forward in order to redeem digital awards at participating retail locations during promo events. The app will use geolocation to detect when you’re near a place where you can redeem rewards.

To gain access to the shiny Pokémon, you’ll be prompted to scan a QR code in the store. You can then use the code to redeem the Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee or Let’s Go, Pikachu (or both if you own both games).

Both shiny Pokémon are level 10 and come with the following abilities:

Shiny Pikachu

  • Thunderbolt
  • Double Kick
  • Double Team
  • Thunder

Shiny Eevee

  • Double-Edge
  • Iron Tail
  • Helping Hand
  • Facade

The special event ends June 23.

The start of the event coincides with the release of the major motion picture Detective Pikachu on Friday, May 10. If you visit a Target store on Saturday, May 11, you can receive a Psyduck promo card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game as well as a Detective Pikachu movie poster, while supplies last.
