Mobile RPG Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery receives content updates in the form of years. Year 5 has kicked off this week, adding new areas and classes. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is free-to-download on iOS and Android.

For wizard students who earned their prefect badge during Year 4, they’ll receive access to a new location: the, er, prefect’s bathroom. All Year 5 students will need to take their Ordinary Wizarding Level Exams. New classes include the History of Magic with Professor Cuthbert Binns, and a new mystery professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Outside of Hogwarts, players will be able to explore new areas like Knockturn Alley, and meet more characters from the Weasley family.

“Year 5 is a pivotal year for any student at Hogwarts, with the O.W.L. exams looming, new professors to navigate, and for some, a prefect badge on their robes,” said Amanda Heaton, Executive Producer at Jam City. “We wanted to reflect the rigors of this year in the mobile game, balanced of course, with the core extra-curricular activity at Hogwarts: unraveling mysterious with your school mates. Year 5 brings the most robust year of content yet to the game, and we’re excited for players to start this new chapter.”

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is set in the 1980s, well before Harry and the crew make it to Hogwarts. It lets fans create their own custom witch or wizard and attend classes, learn spells, interact with fellow students, and make their own mark upon J.K. Rowling’s beloved fantasy universe.
