Team17 and developer Ghost Town Games have revealed the Too Many Cooks Pack, a bundle of five bonus chefs that’s included when you pre-order Overcooked 2. Overcooked 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch on August 7.
The new trailer above shows off the new chefs: Calico Cat chef, Monkey chef, Unicorn chef, Walrus chef, and Alien chef. Switch players will receive a sixth bonus chef, the platypus chef. These bonus chefs are in addition to the base game’s roster of 25 chefs.
The sequel is bringing online multiplayer. For the first time up to four culinary heroes can join forces in both local and online co-op. Local and online players can also play together. However, due to technical limitations the game cannot support two local players on one console, and play online with two local players on another. The developers hope to add this functionality in a post-launch update.
Overcooked 2 will include several new level and gameplay mechanics, including throwing ingredients between chefs (or straight into the pan), moving walkways, and dynamic levels.
The dynamic levels means that kitchens can change in the middle of a level, throwing in new challenges and altering the playing field.
A new interactive world map will open up new areas that you can explore with the Onion King’s air bus. And of course there will be new outlandish kitchen designs and all new recipes, equipment, and ingredients to cook with.
If you don’t wish to pre-order, the Too Many Cooks pack will be available to purchase at launch. Overcooked 2 will be available in both digital and physical format for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on August 7. It’s rated E for Everyone.
