Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was one of the many jewels on the Wii U. Now it’s coming to Nintendo Switch and 3DS on July 13 with new content inspired by Super Mario Odyssey. The new trailer above shows off these new levels. A free demo of Captain Toad is available now on the Nintendo eShop.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a unique puzzle-platformer with an interesting limitation – Toad can’t jump. Toad has to carefully navigate the three-dimensional levels that resemble a diorama. Players need to rotate the compact levels to see all the dangers and paths available.

The same miniature garden level design (“hakoniwa” in Japanese) that inspired Captain Toad is also found in many of the levels in Super Mario Odyssey. The new Switch and 3DS ports of Captain Toad will include four all new bonus levels based on Kingdoms from Super Mario Odyssey: Metro Kingdom, Sand Kingdom, Cascade Kingdom, and Luncheon Kingdom.

The bonus levels need to unlocked by playing the game. They can also be unlocked right away by scanning a Super Mario Odyssey amiibo figure, specifically the figures of Mario, Peach, and Bowser in wedding outfits. Note that only the New Nintendo 3DS can scan amiibo.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is available for Pre-Order and pre-loading on the Nintendo eShop right now. Free demos are also available on the eShop. It’s out July 13 on Switch and 3DS.
