Spring time is a great time to get outdoors and walk around. You might as well fire up Pokémon GO as well. Niantic Inc. are adding some incentives to the popular app with the Adventure Week celebration. The event begins May 18 at 1 pm Pacific/4 pm Eastern and ends on May 25.

“Pokémon GO was developed for people to easily experience classic Pokémon gameplay on their mobile device and catch Pokémon in the real world,” states the news post. “As a result, every day, people around the globe go outside, explore the world around them, make some new memories, and get some exercise along the way.”

The Adventure Week will see an increase to Rock-type Pokémon. Hopefully we can find elusive Rock-type fossil Pokémon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl. PokéStops will also award more items during the event, similar to how the First PokéStop of the Day rewards bonus items. Finally, your assigned Buddy Pokémon will find Candies four times as fast while you walk around.

Adventure Week also adds a new cosmetic avatar item, the Explorer’s Hat, and Poké Balls will be 50% off in the game shop.

The Pokémon GO Team encourages players to share pictures of their game in AR camera mode, and post them on social media using the hashtag #PokémonGO.

Pokémon GO Adventure Week begins this Thursday, May 18.
