Good news for those who need a reason to get back into Pokémon GO. Niantic are adding daily bonuses. These bonuses are designed to encourage players to login and perform certain activities at least once a day.

The first Pokémon you catch each day will earn a bonus of 500 XP and 600 Stardust. It doesn’t have to to be a new Pokémon. If you manage to catch at least one Pokémon each day for seven days in a row, you’ll earn a large bonus: 2,000 XP and 2,400 Stardust.

Daily bonuses also apply to PokéStops. The first PokéStop you activate each day will earn an extra 500 XP as well as additional items. Visiting a PokéStop each day for seven days will also net the 2,000 XP bonus, and even more items. It doesn’t have to be the same PokéStop.

The daily timer resets at midnight local time. So catching a Pokémon at 11pm on Tuesday, and at 8am on Wednesday would count for both of those two days.

No specific date was given for when these daily bonus features will be added.

Pokémon GO recently celebrated their first Seasonal Event. The Halloween event upped the appearance of ghostly and scary Pokémon. It also greatly increased the Candy rewards.

It was supposed to end November 1. But I caught half a dozen Gastlys while out shopping yesterday. Niantic may be running it a bit longer to segue into this new daily bonus update. The Halloween event also helped Pokémon GO reclaim its number one spot on the top-grossing chart on the iPhone.
