According to a report by MCV, new Mario and Pokémon games are slated to be released for the NX in the first six months after launch. The other big Nintendo property, The Legend of Zelda, will be appearing as a new game – Breath of the Wild – at launch.

The report from MCV goes on to say that Nintendo is working hard to get third-party developers on board to help give the console more appeal. Nintendo’s platforms have been famously difficult for third parties to work with, because they had different significantly different hardware than the Microsoft and Sony consoles. The report says Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision and Warner Bros. are already on board.

Another bit of information to come out of the report is that Nintendo is hell bent on making sure the NX doesn’t suffer the same fate as the Wii U. MCV’s sources say the report last week about the console being portable are “100 percent accurate.” However their source said Nintendo once again isn’t going after the hardcore. graphics-loving gamers, rather they’re looking for the machine to be the next step from mobile gaming.

“It’s a nice bit of kit, a bit of a novelty, but a good one,” said one exec that has got hands on with the machine in the MCV report. “It won’t appeal to PS4 fans. Nintendo seems set on trying to upgrade smartphone gamers. That’s going to be a big job for the marketing department.”
