The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront DLC, Battle of Jakku, takes place right after the famous Battle for Endor from Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi. In Battle of Jakku, a group of Rebels crash-land on a desert planet and must take down a makeshift Imperial base.

The Battle of Jakku will introduce a new play mode called “Turning Point.” Players must rally to secure control points before they run out of time. Each control point is more difficult to defeat than the one before. The time element adds a new level of tension to the already hectic gameplay.

“There’s a David and Goliath theme to this,” DICE concept artist Anton Grandert told IGN, “The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.” All the while, debris is falling from the sky, to remind you that battles are happening in every direction.

“You’ll even see a Super Star Destroyer come crashing down during the round,” said lead designer Dennis Brännvall.

The Battle of Jakku is coming out on December 8, but it will be available a week early to anyone who preordered Star Wars: Battlefront. Read Pixelkin’s review of Battlefront right here. The game and DLC are rated T for Teen.
