Looking for some Halloween-themed games to play with your family? Here are some appropriate choices. The good news: most of these games are on sale on Steam till November 1st. Rest assured, these are some amazing deals.

For Younger Kids

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is has a beautiful HallOWLween level update. Another great game is Costume Quest, an adorable story about a group of trick-or-treaters who must escape from some real monsters. Macguffin’s Curse, Skulls of the Shogun, Haunted House, and Zombie Pirates are some other great kid-friendly games. One of our favorites is Whispered World, a beautifully animated puzzle adventure game—no, seriously, it’s gorgeous.

For Older Kids

For more mature trick-or-treaters, some of our favorites are stealth-horror games Amnesia and Alice: Madness Returns. Eerie puzzle sidescroller Limbo is good too. Then there’s your typical zombie fare: The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, Dead Space, and Fallout. Borderlands 2 has a DLC called TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest, complete with jack-o-lanterns and creepy windmills. Parents be warned: these games are not great for all teens, and some may even injure the sensibilities of mature adults.

We also stumbled across Blood of the Werewolf, about a mother werewolf whose husband has been killed and child has been kidnapped. The game is pretty gory, but there are so few games about moms out there that we figured we’d mention it.

So go forth, eat too much candy, play some games, and scare your neighbors. Happy Halloween!
