Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee are using the roster of original 151 Pokémon from the first generation. Yet this week The Pokémon Company revealed a brand new Pokémon that will appear in the upcoming games: Meltan.

The diminutive Meltan is known as the Hex Nut Pokémon. It’s a Mythical, Steel type Pokémon whose body is comprised of liquid metal, with a hex nut for a head. None of its abilities or moves have yet been revealed.

Meltan is currently being found in Pokémon GO – but there’s a twist. Any Meltan you find in Pokémon GO is actually a Ditto in disguise. These Ditto-Meltans started popping up following the Pokémon GO Community Day. Now they are being found less and less, though still currently found in game.

It’s a smart bit of marketing, and a brilliant use of the connection between Pokémon GO and the upcoming Switch games, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee.

Pokémon GO can be synced up with Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee, and Pokémon can be transferred from the mobile game into the Switch game. Pokémon will appear in the GO Park in Fuchsia City, which can hold up to 1,000 Pokémon.

The GO Park also features a special minigame in the Play Yard if you have 25 of the same species – finally something to do with all those Pidgeys and Rattatas!

Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee will arrive on November 16 for Switch.
