Fortnite v6.0, also known as Season 6, has arrived for both Battle Royale and Save the World modes on every platform. It’s a spooky, Halloween-themed event that’s caused entire sections of the world to rise up and float in the air. It’s also adding a new Shadow Stone item, and a trio of adorable pets you can carry in your backpack.

A new season means a new purchasable Battle Pass (950 V-Bucks, or about $10), and 100 new cosmetic items to unlock. Purchasing the Season 6 Battle Pass instantly rewards the new exclusive outfits, Calamity and DJ Yonder. The rest will have to be earned through playing and leveling up. See the video below for an overview of the new rewards.

Shadow Stones are a new consumable item found in corrupted areas. Using a Shadow Stone transforms you into a Shadow Form. Shadow Form grants several unique features, including increased speed and jumping, phasing through objects, and nigh invisibility, at the cost of being unable to use weapons. The Shadow Form lasts up to 45 seconds and sounds like the perfect way to escape a bad situation, or ambush unsuspecting victims.

But let’s talk about the most exciting news – pets! Season 6 adds three pets as constant companions that fit snugly in your backpack: Bonesy, Scales, and Camo. The pets are basically decorations, but are animated and will react differently to different situations in game.

The cooperative Save the World mode adds the Cram Session mini-event, which features Mini-Boss Mission Alerts. See here for a full list of patch notes.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, and mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
