During the PlayStation State of Play September 2026, Sony revealed the LEGO PlayStation, a new LEGO set that replicates the original 90s console. The LEGO PlayStation set will release first on October 1 for LEGO Insiders Early Access and the PlayStation store, with mass retail coming October 4. The recommended retail price is set at $179.99.
The LEGO PlayStation set features 1,911 pieces to create a near 1:1 replica of the PlayStation One, which originally launched in 1994. When fully assembled, the console measures over 2.5 in high, 10.5 in wide, and 7.5 in deep.

The gray rectangular console features the signatures circular seam on the top, indicating the disc drive for CD-ROMs. While not the first console to do so, it was by far the most successful, and shifted the gaming industry toward transitioning to CDs.
To celebrate the OG PlayStation’s launch wave of games, the LEGO PlayStation set includes two mini-dioramas featuring PlayStation games. The two featured games are Ape Escape and Gran Turismo.
Ape Escape features an island set piece with a monkey head, while Gran Turismo has a miniature track and tiny cars. Both dioramas are accessible by pulling out the sides of the console for separate display, and are visible when opening the CD port on the top.
The set also includes a replica controller that can plug into the console.
While these LEGO console replicas are fun and nostalgic, I haven’t seen one yet that beats the incredible LEGO NES with separate CRT and scrolling Mario screen!
